Utilizing Digital Marketing and Human Resource Development to Enhance Service Quality in Accommodations at Taro Tourism Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency

Gianyar – The Hospitality Management Program at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic successfully conducted a Community Service Program (PkM) titled “Utilizing Digital Marketing and Human Resource Development to Enhance Service Quality in Accommodations at Taro Tourism Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar.” This event took place over two days, from September 17 to 18, 2024. This PkM activity was the first of its kind held in Taro Village, and during this occasion, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Taro Village and the Hospitality Management Program at Poltekpar Bali. Participants included members of Taro’s community tourism group, tourism operators, and homestay owners, totaling 30 individuals.

The PkM event was officially opened by the Director of Poltekpar Bali, represented by Dr. Putu Diah Sastri Pitanatri, S.ST.Par., M.Par., Head of the Research and Community Service Center (P3M) at Poltekpar Bali. The opening ceremony was attended by the village head, the chairperson of the community tourism group, village officials, residents of Taro, as well as faculty, staff, and students from the Hospitality Management Program.

On the first day, following the opening ceremony, the first session featured speaker Mr. I Gusti Putu Adi Sastrawan, who presented on “Digital Marketing to Enhance the Competitiveness of Accommodations in Taro Village.” This was followed by a session on Excellent Service in Tourism by facilitator and faculty member, Dra. Ni Luh Ketut Sri Sulistyawati, M.Par, and another presentation titled “Implementing KLACI Principles (Clean, Sustainable, Safe, Loving, and Beautiful): Realizing Sustainable Tourism in Taro, Gianyar” by Mr. I Wayan Jata, S.Sos., M.FilH.

The second day focused on “Enhancing Accommodation Service Quality” led by facilitator Mr. Cahyo Purnomo Loanata, S.Tr.Par., M.Tr.Par, followed by a presentation on “Accommodation Service Standards” by facilitator Ms. Kadek Andita Dwi Pratiwi, SST.Par., M.Par. The day continued with practical activities aimed at improving front desk services and amenities standards for homestays, including training on bed making and towel art folding conducted by the facilitators. Participants showed great enthusiasm during these practical sessions. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants as recognition of their involvement.

The training aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of tourism operators in leveraging digital platforms to increase exposure and attract more visitors to Taro Village. It sought to elevate service standards in accommodations through ongoing training and oversight, thereby creating satisfying experiences for guests, building awareness about the importance of excellent service and effective digital marketing to support Taro Village’s competitiveness as a tourist destination, and fostering collaboration among tourism stakeholders to share knowledge and marketing strategies while maintaining service standards.
