Training for Developing Tourist Villages Through Digitalization and Innovation of Tourism Products in Sibetan Village, Bebandem District, Karangasem Regency
Karangasem – The Tourism Travel Business Study Program at the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism successfully held a Community Service (PkM) event titled “Training for Developing Tourist Villages Through Digitalization and Innovation of Tourism Products in Sibetan Village, Bebandem District, Karangasem” in Sibetan Village. The event took place over two days, from September 5 to 6, 2024. This PkM activity is part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Sibetan Village and the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism, specifically the Tourism Travel Business Study Program. The participants included local tourism stakeholders, service providers, and community members from Sibetan Village, totaling 30 individuals.
The event was officially opened by the Director of the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism, represented by the Secretary of the Research and Community Service Center, Mrs. Ni Made Tirtawati, S.Si., M.Par, following a report from the Chair of the PkM Committee, Mrs. Putu Ayu Aryasih, SE., M.Par., CEE., CHE. The opening ceremony was attended by the Village Head, village officials, local residents, as well as faculty and students from the Tourism Travel Business Study Program.
On the first day, the activities began with participant registration, followed by the opening ceremony led by Mrs. Ni Made Tirtawati, S.Si., M.Par. After the opening, the first training session commenced with presentations from local historians Mr. Ida Bagus Nyoman Agung Aeda Astawa and Mr. I Gusti Lanang Adi Wiraprana, who discussed the early history of Sibetan Village, Karangasem, followed by a Q&A session and discussion. After lunch, the training continued with a session on Digital-Based Tourism Product Innovation presented by Mrs. Ni Putu Evi Wijayanti, S.E., M.Par., CEE. This was followed by a session on Excellent Service in the Digital Tourism Industry, presented by Mrs. Made Darmiati, S.Sn., M.Si.
The second day included practical sessions on Digital-Based Tourism Product Innovation by the Facilitator Team (Mrs. Ni Putu Evi Wijayanti, S.E., M.Par.; Mrs. Ni Ketut Wiwiek Agustina, SE., M.Par.; Mr. Drs. Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara, M.Ed.) as well as a session on Excellent Service in the Digital Tourism Industry by another Facilitator Team (Mrs. Made Darmiati, S.Sn., M.Si.; Mrs. Dr. Lukia Zuraida, S.Pd., M.Hum.; Mr. Drs. Teguh Hadisukarno, M.Par.) and a session on Marketing Digital Tourism Products Based on Tourist Villages by the Facilitator Team (Mr. Putu Gde Arie Yudhistira, SE., M.M.; Mr. Made Artajaya, S.Pd., M.Si.). The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants as a recognition of their participation.
The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Sibetan community in developing their tourist village through digitalization and innovation in tourism products. It is hoped that this training will better prepare the residents of Sibetan Village to manage their tourism potential and provide memorable experiences for visitors.
This PkM activity is part of the ongoing collaboration (MOA) between Sibetan Village and the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism, particularly the Tourism Travel Business Study Program.
