The Language Service Unit of Bali Tourism Polytechnic Enhances English Proficiency through Community Service for Bluebird Bali Drivers

Nusa Dua – The Language Service Unit (UPB) of Bali Tourism Polytechnic conducted specialized training, particularly in English language skills, at PT. Praja Bali Transportasi (Bluebird Bali). The training was part of the Community Service Program (PKM) held from January 26 to February 23, 2024. Training sessions were conducted every Friday, spanning two hours per session.

The English language training, titled "Executive English Course for the Luxury Taxi Drivers of Bluebird," was conducted on-site at the meeting room of PT. Praja Transportasi Bluebird Bali, located at Jl. Bypass Nusa Dua no. 4 Jimbaran. The participants included approximately 200 Golden Bird drivers. The participants showed enthusiasm and eagerness during the training sessions, actively engaging in discussions and posing various questions.

The goal of this English language training is to assist drivers in effectively communicating with passengers in English relevant to their profession. This includes basic greetings, expressing requests and offers with polite and formal expressions, as well as various conversational forms and terms used in English between drivers and passengers during their journeys.
