Student Mobility Program: Strengthening Collaboration Between Thai Binh Doung University, Vietnam, and Bali Tourism Polytechnic
Nusa Dua – The Bali Tourism Polytechnic (BiTP) warmly welcomed a delegation of seven members from Thai Binh Duong University, Vietnam, on March 24, 2024. The delegation, consisting of one lecturer and six students, participated in the Student Mobility Program for a duration of seven days, from March 24 to March 30, 2024. This program is an implementation of the collaboration between the Bali Tourism Polytechnic and Thai Binh Duong University, Vietnam.
Through this program, the delegation was introduced to Balinese culture through a culture orientation and acquainted with traditional Balinese cuisine through a Balinese Culinary Cooking Class, taught directly by lecturers from the Culinary Arts Study Program of the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. Mr. I Wayan Sukma Winarya Prabawa, M.Par., M.Pro., a lecturer at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic who is also the Deputy Director II, presented on the development of internationally standard tourist destinations. The participants also experience an introduction to Food and Beverage Service area, including barista skills from the lecturer team of the Food and Beverage Service Study Program. The delegation had the extraordinary opportunity to learn directly about the implementation of green tourism in Taro Tourism Village, Gianyar, followed by the implementation of health tourism based on local culture through practicing Yoga Ketawa (Laughing Yoga) in Ubud, Gianyar.
One of the participants stated that the learning experience in Bali through this Student Mobility Program has raised awareness that hospitality is about spreading positive energy, as they felt in Bali during the program. This profound and positive impression serves as an indicator that the Student Mobility Program, a collaboration between the two institutions, can contribute positively to the learning and character development of its participants. It is hoped that in the future, this will lead to a closer relationship for collaboration that benefits both institutions and the wider community.
