Poltekpar Bali Ready to Produce Outstanding and Competent Tourism Professionals, Opens Joint Selection Soon
DENPASAR, radarbali.id - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia held the Launch of the Joint Selection Entrance (SBM) for Tourism Polytechnics. This activity serves as the new student admission process for Tourism Polytechnics under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. Through 'The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno' or WBSU, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy officially launched SBM Poltekpar 2024.
SBM Poltekpar is the new student admission process for six Tourism Polytechnics under the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, including Poltekpar NHI Bandung, Poltekpar Bali, Poltekpar Medan, Poltekpar Palembang, Poltekpar Makassar, and Poltekpar Lombok. The launch event was conducted in a hybrid format, with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, officially opening SBM Poltekpar at the Sapta Pesona Building, and it was broadcast live through the Ministry's YouTube channel.
Also present as speakers were the Secretary of the Ministry/Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani), the Head of the Human Resources Development Center for Tourism (Andar Danova L. Goeltom), and the six Directors of the Tourism Polytechnics.
In his speech, Sandiaga Uno explained that the SBM Poltekpar selection process adheres to principles of transparency, objectivity, equality, and accountability, which are aimed at upholding the values of honor and honesty as part of a character-based education system. In line with the growth of tourism in Indonesia, the role of human resources in the tourism sector is a strategic issue that needs to be professionally prepared and developed in terms of both quality and quantity.
As one of the state tourism higher education institutions under the Ministry, Bali Tourism Polytechnic is ready to welcome prospective outstanding tourism professionals through SBM Poltekpar. The SBM Poltekpar registration is conducted online through the website www.sbmpoltekpar.kemenparekraf.go.id from February 26 to May 4, 2024.
Bali Tourism Polytechnic, which has produced outstanding and competent individuals in the fields of tourism and hospitality, offers five D4 study programs, including D4 Hotel Management (PPH), D4 Hospitality Accounting Management (MAH), D4 Convention and Event Management (PKA), D4 Tourism Destination (DEP), and D4 Travel Business (UPW), as well as three D3 study programs, including D3 Room Division (DIK), D3 Food and Beverage Service (TAH), and D3 Culinary Arts (SKU).
A total of 60% of the new student quota for Bali Tourism Polytechnic is taken from SBM Poltekpar, while the remaining 40% is taken from SMM or Independent Selection Entrance, which will open after SBM Poltekpar registration ends. For the 2024/2025 academic year, the new student quota is adjusted to 3,660 students as directed by the Secretary, with a target of reaching 14,460 students (400% of the quota).
