Poltekpar Bali in collaboration with Injourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) The Nusa Dua Successfully Holds Hospitality & Service Excellence Training 2024
The Nusa Dua, October 10, 2024 – Bali State Polytechnic of Tourism (Poltekpar Bali) in collaboration with PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) successfully held a Collaborative Community Service Program (PKM) with the theme "Hospitality and Service Excellence Training for The Nusa Dua Transport Association." The event took place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the ITDC Wantilan, The Nusa Dua.
The PKM collaboration event was officially opened by the General Manager of ITDC The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, accompanied by I Putu Esa Widaharthana, SE., M.Sc., the Event Coordinator. The training was attended by 60 participants from the The Nusa Dua Transport Association.
I Made Agus Dwiatmika, General Manager of ITDC The Nusa Dua, stated, “ITDC is committed to continuously improving the quality of tourism services in The Nusa Dua area. With this training for drivers, we hope it will serve as a strategic step to improve service quality, especially for transportation services in The Nusa Dua area. We highly appreciate Bali State Polytechnic of Tourism (Poltekpar Bali) for their support and collaboration in organizing this training event. The alignment between education and the tourism industry is a key reference for us in organizing this event to improve competence and competitiveness for the development of sustainable tourism.”
I Putu Esa Widaharthana, SE., M.Sc., the Event Coordinator, added, “In facing the era of Industry 4.0 and moving towards Industry 5.0, the improvement of tourism products to enhance global competitiveness should be supported by the availability of skilled and competent human resources. Through this training, we hope to provide opportunities for tourism practitioners, particularly transport drivers, to understand the basic concepts of tourism, knowledge about tourist destinations, the tourism industry, tourism marketing, human resources and institutions, as well as the development of technology and information, as essential knowledge to help them become good facilitators, dynamic players, and regulators in the tourism environment.”
The event was divided into several sessions. The first session covered the topic of Basic Professionalism Attitude, presented by Dr. I Nyoman Sudiksa, SE., M.Par., CHE. The second session discussed Cross-Cultural Understanding, delivered by Drs. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Suprastayasa, M.Ed. The final session focused on Digital Business Opportunities, presented by Ida Bagus Putu Agus Garlika, S. ST, Par., MM., CPOD., CDMP. In addition to receiving training material, participants were also encouraged to engage in discussions and share experiences with facilitators and speakers.
Through this training, it is hoped that the participants will be able to develop their industry competencies in providing excellent service, enabling them to work more professionally and efficiently. Furthermore, this training is expected to enhance customer satisfaction, which in turn will strengthen the reputation and image of tourism in The Nusa Dua area. By emphasizing high service standards, this training plays a role in improving professionalism among members and building stronger cooperation among them. Overall, the event aims to create excellent and satisfying services that will enhance the competitiveness of The Nusa Dua in the tourism sector.
