Poltekpar Bali Holds Makardhi Job Fair 2023 to Reduce Unemployment
BADUNG, Radar Bali – Politeknik Pariwisata (Poltekpar) Bali once again facilitated a platform for companies to meet job seekers in a job fair.
Hundreds of job seekers, including students, fresh graduates, and the general public, attended to explore the 30 company booths representing various sectors of the tourism industry in Bali. The event, held on October 5-6, 2023, at the Poltekpar Bali campus, aimed to provide opportunities for both companies and job seekers, helping to reduce the unemployment rate in Bali.
“There are about five hundred job openings available. We are providing a bridge for job seekers that aligns with their education and interests, and helping companies to find qualified and professional employees,” said Ida Bagus Putu Puja, Director of Poltekpar Bali, at the opening ceremony.
The Job Fair, themed “Exploring Tourism Careers: Discover a wide range of job opportunities in the dynamic tourism industry,” featured various industries within the tourism sector, including wedding organizers, event organizers, cruise lines, the hospitality industry, and travel organizers.
Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Chief Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, who attended and opened the event, emphasized the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on many jobs in the tourism sector, highlighting the interconnectedness of this industry with all others.
“Therefore, the 14th Makardhi Job Fair Bali Tourism Polytechnic serves as a starting point for visitors to prepare themselves for entering the workforce, facing current issues, and being able to compete with others,” she said.
She also noted that this event is one of the educational sector’s concrete programs in collaboration with industry partners to create quality human resources (HR).
“I certainly hope this event will have a positive impact, generate job opportunities, and reduce unemployment,” she concluded.
