We would like to wish a happy celebration of the Chinese Spring Festival or the 2576th Chinese New Year to our brothers and sisters who are celebrating. May this Chinese New Year bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to us all,” said the Director of Indonesia TCI Unud, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Widyatmaja, as he opened his remarks.

He further explained that this Chinese New Year, according to the Chinese calendar, marks the Year of the Wood Snake. The Wood Snake symbolizes wisdom, courage, and transformation.

“Hopefully, in this Year of the Wood Snake, it will bring happiness and prosperity to all of us, as well as bring new hope and enthusiasm to work harder and strive for even greater achievements,” he added.

During the occasion, Ngurah Widyatmaja also explained that the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) Unud is a collaboration between Udayana University and the Chinese International Education Foundation, in partnership with two universities in China: Nanchang University and Nanchang Normal University.

He also mentioned that TCI Unud, which was established on December 10, 2019, has played an important role and made significant contributions in preparing human resources, particularly in facilitating Mandarin language learning to improve the quality of services for Chinese tourists in Bali.

“This can be seen from Mandarin language training provided to the entire academic community of Udayana University, Bali State Polytechnic, Bali Tourism Polytechnic, staff from Bali Police, Customs, Immigration throughout Bali, staff at Prof. Ngoerah Hospital, Ngurah Rai Airport Authority, managers of Tanah Lot Tourist Destination, and staff from the Bali Provincial Tourism Office,” he explained.
