Solopos.com, SRAGEN β€” Community Service (PKM) is an integral part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In this program, lecturers apply their knowledge to conduct various beneficial activities for the community in their field of expertise. According to a written statement received by Solopos.com, the Tourism Destination Study Program (DEP) Sragen, Bali Tourism Polytechnic (PPB), regularly engages with the community to carry out meaningful service activities.

For the Odd Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, Bali Tourism Polytechnic conducted community service in Sangiran Tourist Village, located in Krikilan Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen Regency, on Friday-Saturday (November 9-10, 2023). Krikilan Village in Kalijambe District consists of 10 hamlets, three community units (RW), and 22 neighborhood units (RT) with a population of 4,646 people or about 1,482 families. Most of the Krikilan residents work as farmers.

This community service focused on the topic of Sustainable Tourism Destination Management in Sangiran Tourist Village, Sragen Regency. It also aimed to improve the understanding of excellent service among local community members, especially the managers of the tourist village, to ensure satisfaction and trust from visitors to Sangiran Sragen.

The material on management was presented on balancing supply and demand in the tourism sector, particularly in rural tourism.

β€œTo support tourism destinations, strategies are needed to build infrastructure, create unique tourist attractions different from those in other regions, and implement and monitor CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols in the area, so that the quality of human resources in the tourism economy sector can improve as expected,” the statement said.

The Tourism Destination Study Program (DEP) of PSDKU Sragen, Bali Tourism Polytechnic, brought in several internal and external speakers. Internal speakers included Dr. Hanugerah Kristiono Liestiandre, S.St.Par., M.M; Dr. Rahmawati, MM.Par, and Matius Tinna Sarira, M.Hum. External speakers included the Head of the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office of Sragen Regency, Joko Hendang Murdono, S.STP. In addition to applying their knowledge, this activity also served as a means to understand the actual conditions faced by the community.
