Minister Sandiaga Uno: Poltekpar Bali Has Entrepreneurship and Integrated Service Building
MANGUPURA, POS BALI - The mobilization of people to witness tourism potential in various countries worldwide is expected to increase, in line with improving economies in international regions. This condition should receive serious attention from various parties in the country, including the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia.
In the future, institutions are needed to produce new entrepreneurs so that tourism needs can be met properly. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, stated this after the Topping Off Ceremony of the Entrepreneurship and Integrated Service Building in Nusa Dua on Tuesday (10/10/2023).
He explained that the construction of the Entrepreneurship Building (Business Center) and Integrated Service is a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian Government's Work Program, which targets the development of excellent and professional Human Resources (HR).
Additionally, he added, the Entrepreneurship and Integrated Service Building is supported by Kemenparekraf RI in developing agents of change to encourage the emergence of more new entrepreneurs in Indonesia, particularly at Poltekpar Bali, to meet the demand for 4.4 million tourism workers by 2024.
"The construction of the Entrepreneurship Building aims to accommodate the needs of students, staff, and lecturers of Bali Tourism Polytechnic in an integrated manner, providing a platform for creative and innovative business ideas," he emphasized. Meanwhile, the Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Ida Bagus Putu Puja, stated that the construction of the entrepreneurship and service building would serve as an exhibition space for various small and medium enterprises in Bali. This facility also becomes an ideal place to establish business relationships with potential partners, prospective customers, and industry representatives, as well as a source of information on current trends, industry innovations, and market developments, he asserted.
"The construction of the public service building at Poltekpar Bali also aims to provide ease, speed, security, and comfort for students, lecturers, and staff in obtaining services," he said. Integrated service delivery can encourage the utilization of shared data, enabling simplification in data and information management, as well as service bureaucracy, leading to time and cost efficiency, and ease in obtaining administrative service products.
"One of the goals of entrepreneurship at Poltekpar Bali is not only to produce future entrepreneurs but also to create an enterprise culture and entrepreneurship ecosystem that can serve as a basic infrastructure for academics, students, and researchers at Poltekpar Bali to be value-creation oriented in all their activities," he explained.
The concept of entrepreneurship at Poltekpar Bali must be broadened, not only to industry-based entrepreneurship but also academic entrepreneurship, meaning how higher education institutions have an entrepreneurial orientation, enhance entrepreneurial competency, and apply entrepreneurial processes that can break old ways and discover innovations contributing to socio-economic development in Indonesia, he noted. The Entrepreneurship (Business Center) and Integrated Service Building has a building area of 12,558 m² and is equipped with discussion rooms, business meetings, exhibitions, business roles, theater arts, co-working spaces, and literacy, which is built with the concept of green campus.
