Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, Launches Joint Entrance Selection: Bali Tourism Polytechnic Ready to Produce Excellent and Competent Tourism Professionals
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia held the Launching of the Joint Entrance Selection (SBM) for Tourism Polytechnics. This event signifies the admission process for new students into the Tourism Polytechnics under the auspices of the Ministry. Through 'The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno' (WBSU), Minister Sandiaga Uno officially launched the SBM for Bali Tourism Polytechnic in 2024.
SBM Poltekpar is the process of admitting new students to 6 Tourism Polytechnics under the Ministry's supervision, including NHI Bandung, Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Medan Tourism Polytechnic, Palembang Tourism Polytechnic, Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, and Lombok Tourism Polytechnic. The launch event was conducted in a hybrid format, with Minister Sandiaga Uno officially opening the SBM Poltekpar at the Sapta Pesona Building, broadcast live via the Ministry's YouTube channel. Also present as speakers were the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani), the Head of Human Resource Development Center for Tourism at the Ministry (Andar Danova L. Goeltom), and the directors of the six Polytechnics.
Minister Sandiaga Uno, in his address, explained the principles of the Joint Entrance Selection (SBM) for Poltekpar, emphasizing transparency, objectivity, and accountability, which are rooted in upholding honor and honesty as part of character education principles. This aligns with the increasing role of human resources in tourism as a strategic issue for Indonesia, necessitating preparation and professional development in terms of both quality and quantity.
Bali Tourism Polytechnic, as one of the State Tourism Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry, is prepared to welcome outstanding prospective tourism professionals through SBM Poltekpar. Registration for SBM Poltekpar is conducted online via the website www.sbmpoltekpar.kemenparekraf.go.id from February 26 to May 4, 2024. Bali Tourism Polytechnic, known for producing competent professionals in tourism and hospitality, offers 5 D4 Programs including Hospitality Management (PPH), Hospitality Accounting Management (MAH), Convention and Event Management (PKA), Tourism Destination Management (DEP), and Travel Business (UPW), as well as 3 D3 Programs including Room Division (DIK), Table Service (TAH), and Culinary Arts (SKU). 60% of Bali Tourism Polytechnic's new student quota will be filled through SBM Poltekpar, while the remaining 40% will be from the Independent Selection (SMM) for Polytechnic admissions, which will commence after the SBM Poltekpar registration period ends.
