Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Inaugurates Integrated Business Building at Bali Tourism Polytechnic
Bali, InfoPublik – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, officially inaugurated the Integrated Business Building located in the Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) area.
After the inauguration on Monday (September 2, 2024), Sandiaga stated that the purpose of this building is to prepare entrepreneurial skills for students and serve as a hub for entrepreneurship and international programs.
"More and more countries are interested in sending their students here to participate in short courses, student exchanges, and sharing best practices," said Sandiaga.
During his meeting with President Hussein Mwinyi of Zanzibar, held at Hotel Mulia Bali on the same day, Sandiaga received information that the President of Zanzibar is eager to enhance tourism talent development in his country.
"The education system at Poltekpar meets world-class standards. I hope this will contribute to creating 4.4 million jobs, driving Indonesia towards advancement," Sandiaga said.
Ida Bagus Putu Puja, Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, added that the integrated business building is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf to develop change agents and encourage more entrepreneurs in Indonesia, especially at Poltekpar Bali.
"One of the aims of entrepreneurship at Poltekpar Bali is not only to produce future entrepreneurs but also to create a corporate culture and entrepreneurial ecosystem that serves as a basic infrastructure for academics, students, and researchers," said Ida Bagus.
The Integrated Business Building spans 12,558 m², consisting of two buildings connected by a bridge. The first building functions as a digital library, teaching center, mini-museum, and a library specifically for Poltekpar Bali students and staff, which is also open to the public.
The second building is dedicated to handling international relations, as Poltekpar Bali has opened international classes. It also includes supporting facilities such as a mycology room, wine and barista room, as well as discussion rooms and business meeting areas with an integrated concept that can be utilized for exhibitions, business, theater arts, and literacy.
"This building is expected to foster entrepreneurship, establish networking, and provide positive inspiration," said Ida Bagus.
"Our hope is that all academic members, both from Bali and the general public, will make use of the facilities provided to enhance human resources in the creative economy sector, creating high-quality entrepreneurs with global competitiveness," he added.
Accompanying Menparekraf were the Head of the Communication Bureau of Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf, I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani, along with Deputy Directors and Heads of Departments within Poltekpar Bali.
