Lantern Festival 2024: The Implementation of Bali Tourism Polytechnic (BiTP) and Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) University of Udayana Partnership
As a commitment to building globally competitive graduates, Bali Tourism Polytechnic (BiTP) has established a partnership with the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI) University of Udayana. On February 23, 2024, the Lantern Festival was conducted in Aula Joop Ave Polytechnic Tourism of Bali, as a part of cross-cultural activity for students. In this event, Bali Polytechnic Tourism students were invited to get acquainted with the culture of Lunar New Year, Lion Dance (Barongsai), Wushu, and a special cake in the Lantern Festival: Tangyuan. In addition, the forms of Indonesian and Chinese acculturation are demonstrated through Solo Bengawan Songs which was sung bilingually, in Chinese and Indonesian.
The Deputy Director of BiTP, Dr. I Gusti Agung Gede Witarsana, S.ST.Par., M.M., CHE. expressed that in addition to the partnership of both institutions and the two countries, the cooperation with TCI is a strategic effort to open the gate for BiTP’s graduates to be able to reach a wider field of employment. In addition to the cultural introduction, the Mandarin Language Lecturer from TCU, Mrs. Ma Xuke, will soon be in charge of guiding BiTP’s students to master Mandarin as a supporting skill that will enhance competitiveness in the global workplace. It is hoped through this cooperation BiTP is progressing in achieving its vision of becoming center of excellence in tourism globally.
