**Nusa Dua, October 9, 2024** – South Korea's global presence has grown significantly due to the hallyu wave, encompassing K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Food, and K-Beauty, which have spread not only across Asia but worldwide. The enthusiasm for Korean culture has driven tourists to want to visit the Land of the Morning Calm. The demand for professionals in the tourism and hospitality sectors in Korea is substantial, presenting significant career opportunities for Indonesia's workforce in these fields.

Politeknik Pariwisata Bali, as a vocational education institution specializing in tourism and hospitality, is leveraging the momentum of its partnership with the Daewoong Foundation to fulfill one of its major visions: to become an internationally recognized tourism university. One of the implementations of this collaboration is the establishment of the BiTP – DF Korean Center, inaugurated on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The Daewoong Foundation, which has long been involved in health-related initiatives, has a program aimed at improving educational quality, particularly in the Korean language. General Manager of the Daewoong Foundation, Ms. Jo Soyeon, stated that the opening of the Korean Center serves not only as a platform for learning the Korean language but also as a venue to gain deeper insights into Korean culture.

The Korean Center was officially inaugurated by the Director of Poltekpar Bali, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes, at the I Gede Ardika Postgraduate Building. He mentioned that the opening of the Korean Center is a crucial first step in enhancing the language skills of Poltekpar Bali students, particularly in Korean. Furthermore, the Korean Center will serve not only as a venue for improving Korean language proficiency but also as a cultural exchange platform between Indonesia and Korea. The collaboration with the Daewoong Foundation will enable Poltekpar Bali to enhance educational quality, including opportunities for student internships in Korea and the integration of Korean culture into the curriculum.

The opening ceremony of the Korean Center was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the center’s office. The Daewoong Foundation has prepared native Korean-speaking teachers to offer free courses to Poltekpar Bali students and the general public. The commitment of the Daewoong Foundation, alongside Poltekpar Bali, extends beyond the establishment of the Korean Center to include full support for Poltekpar Bali’s programs, such as providing scholarships and assisting students during their internships in Korea. The Korean Center has now opened its first Korean language classes for students, faculty, staff of Poltekpar Bali, and the general public. Participants can learn both on-site at Poltekpar Bali and online.
