HIMAPRODI Event Management Successfully Held a Public Lecture for New Students
Nusa Dua – The Event Management Study Program successfully held a Public Lecture at the MICE Widyatula Building, Bali Tourism Polytechnic, on Friday, August 9, 2024.
The event, themed “National Event Mastery: From Concept to Execution,” aimed to provide prospective new students with insights into career prospects and opportunities in the MICE field, as well as to spark their interest in joining the Event Management Study Program. The primary goal of the Public Lecture was to give new students an understanding of the study program and to enhance their enthusiasm for the Convention and Event Management Program. Additionally, the lecture supported the promotional and outreach efforts of Bali Tourism Polytechnic.
First-semester and third-semester students from the Event Management Study Program attended the event in person, while first-semester students from the PSDKU Manado participated remotely via Zoom.
“I hope that through this event, we can gain a wealth of new knowledge that can be applied to our academic and professional lives in the future,” said Pieter Vandy, the Chair of the Public Lecture Committee for the Event Management Study Program. The Public Lecture was opened by I Putu Esa Widharthana, SE., M.Sc., the Coordinator of the Event Management Study Program.
The Public Lecture featured two guest speakers with experience in the MICE and Event industries. The first speaker was Dr. Ryandi Satrio, M.Biomed.Sp.B, FINACS, also known as Dr. Jiji, Stage Manager at “O2 Management.” The second speaker was Mr. Budi Darmawan, Founder of Micepedia.
Dr. Jiji explained that an event concept should encapsulate the main theme to guide all decisions during the event's execution. Another crucial aspect is setting clear event goals and coordinating to ensure flawless execution. Mr. Budi Darmawan’s presentation was also highly informative. He shared his experiences handling various events and emphasized, “Three key aspects to consider when planning an event are Quality, Price, and Time.” The Public Lecture is expected to benefit many people and bring positive change in developing event management skills.
