HIMA PRODI Hospitality Accounting Management of Bali Tourism Polytechnic Hosts International Webinar
Denpasar, August 16, 2024 – The Student Association (HIMA) of the Hospitality Accounting Management Study Program at Bali Tourism Polytechnic successfully hosted an international webinar titled “Minimizing Food Waste in Hospitality: An Accounting and Finance Perspective.” The event took place in a hybrid format on Friday, August 16, 2024.
According to the Coordinator of the MAH Study Program, Dr. Ni Made Sri Rukmiyati, S.E., M.Si, the chosen theme is highly relevant to the issue of food waste in the hospitality sector. “Through the lens of accounting and finance, we hope to identify strategies that can be applied to support environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and increased profitability,” said Dr. Rukmiyati in her report. To this end, HIMA PRODI Hospitality Accounting Management specifically invited professional speakers from both domestic and international institutions, including the University of Phayao, Thailand, and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia. The speakers included:

Anderson Ngelambong, Coordinator of the Bachelor Degree Program, Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management at UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
The Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes., expressed his hope that the international seminar would provide valuable insights and practical knowledge applicable to participants' roles. Dr. Puja added that, in facing future challenges, the information gathered today could assist in decision-making. The webinar was attended by 327 participants and is expected to provide valuable insights and inspire all to steer the hospitality industry towards a more sustainable and efficient future.
