Bali Tourism Polytechnic Receives a Visit From STED and SHL Representatives to Discuss Continued Cooperation

Nusa Dua – Sustainable Tourism Education Development (STED) visisted Bali Tourism Polytechnic on Tuesday, March 19 2024. STED, represented by Kiky Hendarin as Deputy Project Manager of STED, Bernhard Huber as Industry Senior Expert and Lecturer of SHL and the team were welcomed directly by the Deputy Director I, Dr. I Gusti Agung Gede Witarsana, S.ST.Par., MM., CHE. along with staff including the Head of Academic Administration, Student Affairs and Cooperation (ADAK), Head of Subdivision. Academic Administration and Cooperation (Head of AAK Subdivision), Study Program Coordinators (KPS) and alumni of the SVEB Training program.

This visit is a follow-up to the collaboration between SHL and the Bali Tourism Polytechnic which was signed in Switzerland in November 2023. This visitation was carried out in order to directly discuss potential matters that could be included as a form of collaboration. Apart from that, the purpose of this visit is to share experiences related to vocational education, especially in the field of hospitality and tourism on the SHL campus. Furthermore, the analysis of this visitation can be a recommendation for the future development of the Bali Tourism Polytechnic both in terms of teaching, practical facilities, cooperative relations with industry and maintenance of facilities.

After holding discussions regarding the follow-up to the collaboration between SHL and the Bali Tourism Ministry, the STED and SHL teams were invited to tour several campus facilities, namely the kitchen practice lab and restaurant. On the same occasion, students from the D3 Culinary Arts and Cookery Study Program were also practicing so that at exactly 12.00 WITA, the invitees and the Bali Poltekpar management team enjoyed dishes from the D3 Culinary Arts Study Program students and enjoyed excellent service from the D3 Cookery Arts students.
