SURAKARTA, radarbali.jawapos.com – Collaborative Community Service Program (PKM) by Politeknik Pariwisata Bali and Surakarta Tourism Office
Politeknik Pariwisata Bali, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Surakarta City, successfully organized a Collaborative Institutional Community Service (PKM) program in Surakarta.
The dynamic collaboration, held over two days from November 11–12, 2024, centered on the theme: "Enhancing Local Human Resource Capacity for Sustainable Tourism in Surakarta's Tourism Villages - Central Java."
This PKM initiative reflects the implementation of a partnership between Poltekpar Bali as a higher education institution and the government through the Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) of Surakarta City.
The program is a tangible contribution of academics to support the sustainable development of local tourism, particularly by strengthening human resources in newly emerging tourism villages in Surakarta.
Surakarta is recognized as a cultural hub in Java, rich in cultural heritage, history, and tourist attractions. However, challenges remain in optimizing the management of its tourism potential. During his opening remarks, I Nengah Wirata, SE., M.Par., Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, outlined the goals of the program: providing training on identifying tourism product potential, developing tourism packages, and innovative product training alongside digital marketing strategies.
“The main challenge for tourism villages in Surakarta lies in their inability to professionally and sustainably manage their destinations,” Wirata explained.
To address these challenges, the Collaborative PKM in Surakarta sought to revitalize the potential of Surakarta’s tourism workforce by inviting expert speakers to share their insights:
