Nusa Dua, September 2, 2024 – Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) welcomed the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, for the inauguration of the Integrated Business Building. The Minister praised Poltekpar Bali's innovation in addressing entrepreneurial needs and creating job opportunities in Indonesia. He expressed hope that the new building would guide Poltekpar Bali students toward becoming ecopreneurs.
Beginning September 2024 on a strong note, Poltekpar Bali officially launched the Integrated Business Building in response to Minister Sandiaga Uno's challenge to produce graduates capable of generating jobs. This initiative aligns with Poltekpar Bali's mission as a vocational institution in tourism and hospitality, providing a platform for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills in collaboration with stakeholders and business leaders.
Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes, Director of Poltekpar Bali, explained that the goal of entrepreneurship at the institution is to foster an enterprise culture and entrepreneurial ecosystem. “The concept of entrepreneurship at Poltekpar Bali must be expanded to include academic entrepreneurship, which focuses on how higher education institutions can cultivate entrepreneurial orientation, enhance entrepreneurial competencies, and implement innovative processes that contribute to socio-economic development in Indonesia,” added Dr. Puja. The establishment of the Integrated Business Building is also supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as part of their efforts to encourage more entrepreneurs to emerge from Poltekpar Bali.
The inauguration was officiated by Minister Sandiaga Uno through a stone inscription signing, accompanied by Dr. I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani, A.Par, M.Par, CHE, Head of the Ministry's Communication Bureau. He also mentioned that Poltekpar Bali has successfully produced 13% of entrepreneurs, contributing to the creation of 4.4 million jobs in Indonesia. Additionally, he noted that the building could serve as an exhibition space and facilitate business networking with other entrepreneurs.
After signing the inscription, the Minister, along with the Director of Poltekpar Bali and the Head of the Communication Bureau, toured the 12,558 m² facility. The building, divided into two sections, features architecture reminiscent of Bali, with the front connecting to the Watugunung Amphitheater, serving as a teaching factory for outdoor activities.
