"Active Participation in Global Tourism: Poltekpar Bali Discusses Regenerative Tourism at INSPIRE 2024."

**Nusa Dua, October 15, 2024** – Bali Polytechnic of Tourism (Poltekpar Bali) consistently supports the development of global tourism. Through its Master of Applied Tourism (MTP) program, Poltekpar Bali hosted THE 4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HOSPITALITY, TOURISM AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, or INSPIRE 2024.

INSPIRE 2024 is a global event featuring keynote speakers from various universities around the world. The conference focuses on the paradigm shift towards regenerative practices that not only reduce harm but also restore ecosystems and empower local communities. “This conference emphasizes principles of ecological health, cultural heritage, and community engagement, urging participants to rethink their roles as stewards of the environments they are involved in,” stated Poltekpar Bali's Director, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes.

The hybrid event took place at the MICE Building, Widyatula Poltekpar Bali, with participants joining both online and in-person. The keynote speaker was the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BBA., MBA. According to the Minister, sustainable tourism focuses on reducing negative impacts, while regenerative tourism goes further by restoring and enhancing ecosystems, communities, and MSMEs. Sandi Uno encouraged all attendees to take the initial steps in building regenerative tourism through INSPIRE 2024. In addition to the Minister, several international speakers participated both online and in person, including Mr. Darren Tan (RP Singapore), Dr. Erdinc Cakmak (Breda University), Asst. Prof. Chayakrit Asvathitanont, Ph.D. (Thammasat University), and Dr. Thuc Do (Thai Binh Duong University of Vietnam). Representing Poltekpar Bali were speakers Dr. I Wayan Sukma Winarya, M.Par., M.Pro (Deputy Director II) and Dr. Putu Diah Sastri Pitanatri, S.ST.Par., M.Par (Head of P3M).

For INSPIRE 2024, the Graduate Program at Poltekpar Bali partnered with the Graduate Program at Poltekpar Bandung, RP Singapore, Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia, TBD University Vietnam, and Thammasat University Thailand as co-hosts of the seminar. The event brought together thought leaders and practitioners to discuss the intersection of sustainability, community engagement, and economic viability, aiming to position tourism as a catalyst for positive change.
