Tourism and Gender Equality: Challenges and Opportunities

Bali, 4 September 2024 – Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) is again holding an International Seminar entitled "Tourism and Gender Equality: Challenges and Opportunities" at MICE Widyatula Poltekpar Bali. This event is an important momentum in discussing the role of women in the tourism industry and the challenges faced in achieving gender equality, in line with global efforts as stated in the 5th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

This seminar began with the launch of four research books from Bali Tourism Polytechnic lecturers, which highlighted strategic topics in tourism and hospitality development. These books include:

📘 Local Hotel Operators: Independently Building the Country

📘 PEDEBAVEN: Event-Based Tourism Destination Development Transformation Model

📘 Textbook of Basics of Hotel Accounting
Local Culture in Hotel Management

📘 Sustainable: Harmonizing Tradition and Modernity

At this book launch event, the authors symbolically handed over the book to Dr. I Gusti Agung Gede Witarsana, S.ST.Par., MM CHE, Deputy Director 1 of the Bali Poltekpar, who represented the Director of the Bali Poltekpar. Also present at this event was Prof. Dr. Elaine Chiao Ling Yang, Senior Lecturer of Tourism from the Griffith Institute for Tourism, and Dr. Rahtika Diana, Founder of Beyond Education Indonesia and Beyond Borders Indonesia.
