MANADOPOST.ID – A total of 30 Civil Servants (ASN) from the Tomohon City Government participated in a Basic Tourism and Creative Economy Training (Diklat) in Bali, held from August 25 to 31, 2024.

The training was organized by the Human Resource Development Center (PPSDM) of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), in collaboration with the Bali Polytechnic of Tourism (Poltekpar Bali).

Judhistira Siwu SE MSi, Head of the Tomohon City Tourism Office, explained that all training costs were fully covered by Poltekpar Bali and Kemenparekraf. "Field studies will be conducted in Penglipuran Village, which is recognized as one of the World's Best Tourist Villages by the World Tourism Organization (WTO), and Undisan Tourist Village in Bangli Regency," Siwu said.

He added that the training aimed to enhance the capacity and knowledge of the civil servants in developing the tourism and creative economy sectors in Tomohon City. Siwu also emphasized that this initiative reflects Mayor Caroll Senduk's seriousness in promoting the improvement of human resources in tourism. "Mayor Caroll Senduk has been actively lobbying Kemenparekraf to ensure that Tomohon's civil servants receive quality training," he added.

Andar Danova Goeltom, Head of PPSDM Kemenparekraf, stated that the training was held to broaden the knowledge and skills of civil servants in tourism and the creative economy sectors. “This training provides an opportunity for civil servants to learn and apply new knowledge in the development of tourism in their regions,” he said.

In addition, the Director of Poltekpar Bali, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja MKes, emphasized that the implementation of this training is part of the well-established cooperation between Poltekpar Bali and the Tomohon City Government, as outlined in a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The civil servants participating in the training come from various departments, including the Department of Tourism, the Regional Secretariat, the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR), the Civil Service and Human Resource Development Agency (BKPSDM), and the Regional Financial and Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD). This training is expected to provide significant benefits for the development of the tourism and creative economy sectors in Tomohon, by enhancing the capacity of civil servants in managing and promoting local tourism potential.
