Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno expressed pride in the achievements of the Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) through the organization of the Makardhi Job Fair 2023, which opened up opportunities for the community to access hundreds of jobs in the tourism and creative economy sectors.

"Alhamdulillah, 60 percent of Poltekpar Bali graduates are already contracted for jobs. This is a crucial part of creating 4.4 million new jobs in 2024," said Menparekraf Sandiaga during the Closing Ceremony of The 14th Job Fair Makardhi 2023 Bali Tourism Polytechnic, held at Poltekpar Bali on Friday (6/9/2023).

The Makardhi Job Fair, themed “Exploring Tourism Careers: Discover a Wide Range of Job Opportunities in the Dynamic Tourism Industry,” served as a pivotal moment for students, exhibitors, and job seekers to achieve their goals. The event was open not only to Poltekpar graduates but also to the general public.

Through this event, Poltekpar Bali students had the opportunity to hone their skills in creating and organizing a national-scale event. Meanwhile, exhibitors at the Job Fair had the chance to find and hire qualified human resources while also introducing their companies to visitors. Job seekers benefited by finding suitable job opportunities more easily.

"And today, we witnessed some achievements that we appreciate from Bali's tourism institutions receiving world-class awards. For example, Alila Uluwatu and Potato Head were listed among the world's best hotels. They also recruited through the Job Fair, which has become a trademark of Poltekpar Bali," said Sandiaga.

The Job Fair featured 34 industries in the tourism sector, including hospitality, event/wedding organizers, travel, tourism and leisure, and cruise companies. Over the two-day event from October 5-6, 2023, the Makardhi Job Fair attracted 3,600 visitors. On this occasion, Menparekraf Sandiaga directed Poltekpar Bali to delve deeper into Indonesian culinary arts in their culinary arts study program. According to data managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the main attractions in 2023 were supported by three pillars. First, the excellence and appeal of local culture. Second, the appeal of culinary tourism. Third, sustainability or green tourism. For the second pillar, data shows that more than 40 percent of people choose a destination for its culinary offerings.

"Therefore, on this occasion, I instruct the culinary arts program to incorporate the flavors of the archipelago, as outlined in the Mustikarasa book, which contains Indonesian recipes. Mustikarasa comprises 1,200 pages but is more than just a collection of recipes. It embodies ideological aspects, independence, and food sovereignty, where our foods can be sourced from our local resources. Mustikarasa will be the reference," said Sandiaga.

Accompanying him were the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani; Director of Poltekpar Bali, Ida Bagus Putu Puja; and Head of the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Faisal.
