Bali Tourism Polytechnic Strengthens Tourism Management in Sidan Village
GIANYAR, NusaBali.com – Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) once again demonstrated its commitment to improving local tourism quality through a Community Service Program (PkM) conducted on September 4-5, 2024. This program is a continuation of the previous assistance provided by the Tourism Destination Study Program (DEP) of Poltekpar Bali in Sidan Tourism Village, Gianyar Regency.
The main focus of this PkM was on tourism product planning and enhancing storytelling techniques in Sidan Tourism Village. The program aimed to help the village community plan and package local tourist attractions in a more appealing way for visitors. The activities involved various community elements, including local tourism actors, the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), the Family Welfare Program (PKK), and local youth.
Wayan Sukma Winarya Prabawa, M.Par., M.Pro., Deputy Director 2 of Poltekpar Bali, stated that Poltekpar Bali’s support for tourism development in Bali is essential. According to him, skills such as storytelling techniques are crucial for promoting the history and unique attractions of Sidan Village.
“We hope that through this training, the people of Sidan Village can master the skills to tell compelling stories, thereby impressing tourists and supporting sustainable tourism in Bali,” said Wayan Sukma Winarya Prabawa.
Over two days, participants engaged in intensive training at Kissidan Eco Hill & Retreat, a leading destination promoting the concept of ecotourism. The training focused on techniques for planning tourism products and crafting engaging stories to enhance the attractiveness of Sidan Village.
IB Gede Agung Widana, SH. Dipl.TM. M.Par., Head of the PkM Committee, explained that the program aims to make a tangible contribution to the community through human resource development, particularly in tourism. “We hope that with this guidance, the village community will better understand how to plan tourism products and promote them through strong storytelling,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Wayan Agus Darma Yoga, Secretary of Sidan Village, representing the Village Head, I Made Sukra Suyasa, welcomed the initiative. “We are very grateful for the support of Poltekpar Bali in training our community.
