Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Holds Birkom Day at Bali Tourism Polytechnic

Nusa Dua - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf), through its Communication Bureau, successfully organized Birkom Day at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic campus. The Birkom Day event was held over two days, from June 10 to 11, 2024. Birkom Day is an initiative by the Communication Bureau (Birkom) of Kemenparekraf aimed at providing an inspirational platform for sharing knowledge and enhancing public communication skills within the environment of Kemenparekraf RI, as well as content creation for websites.

The event was officially opened by the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Chief Secretary of Baparekraf, Ms. Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani. "Birkom Day activities are expected to benefit the entire academic community of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, particularly in the field of public information," expressed Giri. Participants of Birkom Day included not only management officials but also lecturers, staff, and students. In addition to topics related to public information packaging, the sessions at Birkom Day also equipped students with knowledge on promoting and effectively presenting information.

The speakers invited to the event were responsible for ensuring the availability of information both digitally and on social media platforms managed by Kemenparekraf RI. Engaging topics included understanding writing, digital content, activation content, social media management, and current social media trends. The content presented provided new perspectives for all participants on the immense influence of social media in an era of rapid information flow.

The discussion session was lively, with Bali Tourism Polytechnic students enthusiastically posing various questions related to social media, ranging from the needs of their study programs to effective social media branding strategies. Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Ida Bagus Putu Puja, also expressed enthusiasm in his address, stating that such positive activities undoubtedly benefit not only the institution but also individuals, given the significant influence of social media today.

Birkom Day at Bali Tourism Polytechnic provided an opportunity for the academic community to explore themselves through audio-visual media on social media platforms, ensuring that the content produced is not only visually appealing but also meaningful.
