Bali Polytechnic holds coral conversion in a series of 2024 Makardhi festivals

Nusa Dua, 10 September 2024 – Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) supports the program of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI) in becoming Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). Through the commemoration of World Tourism Day and the Makardhi II Festival, Bali Poltekpar implemented coral reef planting to achieve SDGs goal no. 14 namely 'Life Below Water'

SDG or Sustainable Development Goals is a global and national commitment in an effort to improve society, including 17 global goals and targets by 2030. Quoted in a press release from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Menparekraf Sandiaga said that the development of sustainable tourism and creative tourism is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Several points of alignment between the development of sustainable creative and creative tourism with the SDGs are in terms of promoting sustainability, economic development, strengthening partnerships and collaboration, preserving local traditions and culture, strengthening social and environmental awareness, and developing sustainable innovation. The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf RI) encourages all Tourism Polytechnics under the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to achieve the 17 SDG goals. The Bali Tourism Polytechnic took advantage of World Tourism Day and the Makardhi II Festival to achieve one of the SDGs, namely 'Life Below Water'.
