Applied Tourism Master Program (MTP) at Bali Tourism Polytechnic Promotes Skill and Professionalism Enhancement in Baturiti Village's Tourism Community

TABANAN, radarbali.jawapos.com - Politeknik Pariwisata Bali (Poltekpar Bali) once again demonstrated its commitment to community empowerment through a community service activity by organizing a training on marketing communication and creative product sales techniques in Baturiti Village, Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency.

The training was held on May 21-22, 2024, by the Applied Tourism Master Program (MTP) at Poltekpar Bali. The aim of this training was to enhance the skills and professionalism of the local residents in the tourism sector.

Baturiti Village is rich in culture and natural beauty. Known as the cultural tourism village "Kokokan" and an agricultural area, this village is located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. Previously, Baturiti Village was famous for its Uma Kawan tourism product, which was popular in the 2020s. Currently, the village has a tourism awareness group named Pokdarwis Baturiti Berseri, which offers camping, trekking, hiking, and local flagship products such as royal honey bees.

Recognizing this great potential, it is essential to improve the skills and professionalism of the local community, especially in marketing and managing tourism destinations. The MTP program at Poltekpar Bali acknowledges the need for skill and professionalism enhancement among the local community, particularly in tourism information, marketing strategy and communication, and sales techniques in entrepreneurship.
Dr. I Ketut Surata, M.Sc., the Chairperson of the Activity, stated that this initiative is part of Poltekpar Bali's responsibility to improve the community's welfare through tourism field service programs. Similarly, the Secretary of Baturiti Traditional Village, Ketut Latra, emphasized that this activity is very beneficial for the community, especially in increasing income for those with small and medium enterprises.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Director 1 of Poltekpar Bali, Dr. I Gusti Agung Gede Witarsana, S.ST.Par., MM., CHE. He hoped that through this training, the community of Baturiti Traditional Village could enhance various skills, human resources, and village governance. A total of 30 participants attended at the Baturiti Village Office, consisting of tourism business actors and local business pioneers.

The training offered a comprehensive curriculum, with sessions designed to improve technical skills and encourage creativity in developing products and services that attract tourists. Moreover, this activity is also part of Poltekpar Bali's efforts to support tourism development in Bali through education and training.
We believe that with the right skills, the community of Baturiti Village can optimize their tourism potential and improve the local economic welfare.
